Hot Melt P5125 Butyl Insulating Glass Sealant
Bostik P5125 Hot Melt Butyl Edge Sealant is a single part, 100% solids compound, specifically designed for the edge sealing of factory produced double glazing units.
- Very low MVTR. A key factor in determining the unit life is the MVTR (moisture vapour transmission rate) of the sealant. Bostik P5125 has one of the lowest MVTRs of any edge sealant resulting in prolonged unit life.
- Health and Safety. Unlike two part systems, P5125 Hot Melt Butyl does not chemically cure, so there is no requirement for harmful solvents to flush out application equipment.
- Reliability. Bostik P5125 has been used successfully for over a decade. Each batch of P5125 produced is tested to ensure compliance with strict quality standards.
- Total Technical Support. Bostik's experience in the IG market goes back over 20 years. Bostik's technical department has a sealed unit testing facility and can provide help and advice on all aspects of sealed unit production.
- Standards met. Bostik P5125 enables the production of quality sealed units. Many users have obtained certification to relevant standards.
- Zero Waste. The special non-slump properties of P5125 means that the sealant is clean in application. Bostik P5125 is also a single part system that requires no purging of the application equipment, eliminating sealant waste.
- Rapid Unit Production. Bostik P5125 is single part and smooth flowing enabling fast, trouble free gunning and speedy unit production. With no need to purge the machine and the machine already at application temperature (controlled by a timer), production can begin immediately.
- Rapid unit handling. Bostik P5125 sets fast; within 2 minutes and units can generally be transported within 5 minutes, rather than the several hours required by other systems. A flexible production system is made possible allowing you to respond rapidly to customer requirements. Emergency units can be produced and despatched to site within minutes, rather than in hours.
- Environmentally sound. Using Bostik P5125 does not damage the environment. It is a non-hazardous material, so there are no special waste requirements. The popular 7kg P5125 packaging size consists of cardboard with release finish only. The product itself can be released cleanly and without product waste from the packaging.
- Improved space utilisation. Storage space for materials and finished units can be kept to a minimum. The popular 7kg P5125 pack size is easy to store and convenient to handle. Finished units can be loaded into vehicles for despatch shortly after production. Space previously used for storage can be used for more productive purposes.

Evo-stik HiFlo 6481 Hot Melt
Evo-Stik HiFlo Hot Melt sealant 6481 has been especially formulated for use in the production of double glazing units. As HiFlo 6481 will set in 2 minutes from its molten state becoming stronger as it cools, assembled units can be moved in 2 to 5 minutes. This means that units can be sealed and glazed in the same day. The production of sealed units using HiFlo 6481 is a relatively simple operation using standard dispensing equipment but since only one component is involved, no cleaning or purging of dispensing equipment is required at the end of every production period.
- Requires no mixing or measuring.
- Will set in 2 minutes from its molten state.
- Units can be installed almost immediately after assembly.
- No wastage - can be re-heated.
- Application is made easy by means of standard dispensing equipment.
- No cleaning or purging of dispensing equipment required.
- Fully tested to the requirements of BS 5713.
