Technical Specification

A front door is a focal point of most properties and the fitted hardware should reflect this. This letter plate has been designed very much with aesthetics in mind with a simple yet elegant styling; it will complement any door.

The construction is unique having pressed metal flaps that hide the surround. With optional high polished finishes in chrome and gold (pvd) this product has a high quality appearance with extremely high corrosion resistance and UV stability. Stainless steel torsion springs significantly increase durability both in normal use and in the event of product abuse.

Testing And Accreditation

• Corrosion Test: UKAS laboratory tested to BS EN 1670 to grade 5 classification (480 hrs salt spray).
• Cycle Test: Opening and closing action of flap tested to 100,000 cycles.
• UV Test: Independent laboratory tested to IS04892 part 3.
• Weather Test: In house tested in accordance with BS EN 13724:2002.
• Abusive Pull Test: In tests where a load is applied to the letter flap to simulate someone pulling a door closed, the letter plate achieves loads in excess of twice that of conventional plastic pivot/ torsion spring designs.

Supplied Screws

• Screws for 0790-2001 (38 - 78mm) Letterplate are - 2 x 3.9mm diameter x 60mm long CSK Cross Headed Self Tapping Screws (colour black).
• Screws for D790-2003 (20 - 40mm) Letterplate are - 2 x 3.9mm diameter x 30mm long CSK Cross Headed Self Tapping Screws (colour black).

DGS Letter Plates

The 10" and 12" letterboxes have an ABS robust moulded frame set with internal and external sprung flaps.

The external flap has been designed to be opened to approximately 147 degrees, giving generous access to the sleeve aperture. A secondary internal nylon brush seal has been incorporated to reduce air circulation when the letter box is in use. The standard sleeve set is 40/40 and is suitable for door thicknesses of 38 to 78mm.

Torsion bars are used to spring loads the flaps. This solution has successfully achieved a 40,000 cycle endurance test, opening to 140 degrees. This would equate to use four times a day over a period of 27 years.

10" (250mm) Letter Boxes

A 10" ABS framed letterbox that takes full A4 size mail.
Aperture size: 216 mm x 38 mm nominal.
Option 1: (40-40 Sleeves) for door thicknesses of 38 - 78 mm.
Option 2: (20-20- Sleeves) for door thicknesses of 18 - 38 mm.
Can be face fixed or thro' fixing with screws.

12" (300mm) Letter Boxes

SlimLine Letter Boxes

The SlimLine LETTERBOX has a robust ABS moulded frame set with internal and external sprung flaps. The external flap has been designed to be opened to approximately 132 degrees, giving generous access to the sleeve aperture.

Torsion bars are used to spring load the flaps. This solution has successfully achieved a 40,000 cycle endurance test. This would equate to use four times a day over a period of 27 years.

The standard ABS sleeve set is 40/40 and is suitable for door thicknesses 40 to 76mm.
